Bentley Continental GTC Goes for £240,000 to Help Children in Need

This year’s Children in Need fundraising activities got off to a flying start when a 195mph Bentley Continental GTC went under the hammer for £240,000.

At a star-studded evening at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester, hosted by Gary Barlow and supported by Kelly Rowland, Chris Moyles, Sir Terry Wogan, and bigger names like Coleen Rooney and JLS, Bentley’s new convertible immediately caught the eye of several generous bidders. By the time the auctioneer had finished, the car had nearly hit the quarter of a million mark. Gary Barlow added some extra drama (Shock!) to proceedings by putting his own bid in for the Bentley and promising to deliver the car in person to the new owners, after criticizing Louis Walsh and the song choice for the auction, naturally. That’s a joke, he didn’t really, but can’t you just imagine him doing it?)

As well as getting the keys to their new car hand-delivered to them by the X-Factor Judge, the winning bidders have been invited to the Bentley factory and will be able to select the woods and leathers for the interior of their car.

In a further personal touch, Bentley’s famous craftsmen and women will be adding the signatures of several of the celebrities who attended the event to the interior, “creating a car unique in the world and a special memento of a generous evening” or defacing the inside of a quarter of a million pounds worth of luxury car,  either way.

Anyhow, well done Bentley for supporting Children in need, it’s a wonderful cause and we’re all very proud of you, especially Gary Barlow.

Eterniti... a storm is brewing...

Simply put, there is a new luxury brand coming to market, and they've only announced they are called Eterniti Motors London.

After a little digging I have found out that when talking 'luxury', Eterniti are looking at the plus £100k price-bracket and in the follow up to Frankfurt we will be hearing from them a few more times just to tease us

Nothing more released apart from this little teaser of a website and a little sketch of what we can expect from the newest brand in the motoring industry.

Top Gayer is Going Stateside!

Cheap motels, key lime pie and the old open road!  Yes Top Gayer is going stateside on an all American road trip, east coast to west – Florida to California!

Setting off on the 18th June, Rich and Marcus are hitting the road covering 3,000 miles in just a few days.  Here we will be posting video diaries, reports on the places we visit and updates on our journey from east to west.

No specific stops or planned visits just driving until we drop.  Our weapon of choice…?  Mazda’s luxury SUV, the CX-9.  Bigger than the CX-7 we get here in the UK, the CX-9 seats 7 people in Mazda's iconic sporting style and luxury.

So we've raised the US flag in celebration, and for the next few weeks feel free to watch our progress in your best american attire.

Our Route will hopefully look something like this...

But we all know how the best laid plans don't always run as smoothly as we'd like.  Regardless of this however, we hope you will all enjoy it and we will try our best to not burst out into song 'a-la-Priscilla'. (we can't guarantee this, there will probably be a few classic hits we just wont hold back on).

If you fancy joining us along the road just log in and subscribe to get updates on what we’re up to.  Alternatively follow @TopGayer on twitter or 'Like' our Facebook page.

Infiniti set a new destination on the Sat-Nav: Geneva 2011

“Infiniti is currently examining concepts for a luxury performance car that will fit below the current G Line. Like every Infiniti, it will be completely different to anything currently offered by our rivals.” So said Andy Palmer, Senior Vice President for Infiniti, at the opening of the Infiniti Centre Piccadilly in London during September 2010.

The 81st Geneva International Motorshow will see Infiniti presenting its next Inspired Performance concept car.  At 12.15 CET (that's about 11.15 here in the UK) Infiniti will show how the Japanese performance brand are taking a more scenic, exciting route to a new future.

That's pretty much all the press release stated and just looking at the quote from Andy Palmer, Senior VP, hopefully we're in for a treat - maybe in the form of a hatchback?  Although, I have a feeling Infiniti will bring some pretty lines to whatever they're planning. Unveil the All New FF

So with Geneva approaching fast, Ferrari have unveiled the all new Ferrari FF on their website.

The FF (representing 'Ferrari Four' and four-wheel drive) gives the luxury manufacturer a brand new market to approach with a GT sports car concept.  Combining the signature Ferrari sporting heritage and usability given it's four seats.

Personally I think it looks a little like a Z4 coupe (previous generation) however, in detail it's clear to see that the 4-seater supercar buyers who have the choice of a Porsche Panamera at the moment, are key clients for the the Italian car makers.

The car is also the first in the range to feature a four-wheel drive system (4RM), making it an important milestone for Ferrari.  However, they've gone one step further to make it half the weight of a normal four-wheel drive system, maintaining performance, and staying true to the Ferrari's character.

Personally, I think it has a little more character than the Panamera, plus reaching 0-62mph in 3.7seconds is seriously quick and something that should definately be shared amongst friends - four to be precise.

Debuting at Geneva, Ferrari are definitely going to be making a noise.
